IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Joseph
Pierce
May 24, 1983 – September 2, 2022
David Joseph Pierce, age 39, passed away suddenly on September 2, 2022. David was born in Concord, MA, on May 24, 1983, the beloved son of Susan Nancy (Orlando) and Douglas Stanley Pierce.
David and his family lived in Boxborough, MA. David attended Boxboro and Acton Public Schools and graduated from Acton-Boxborough Regional High School in 2001. He then attended UMass Lowell, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree (Cum Laude) in Music Performance. He played with many groups and symphonies of all sizes from local trios to the Concord Symphony. He went on to teach music to children and adults of all ages. He was a beloved and highly respected music teacher in the North Shore area. He spent many years composing and writing his solo project, ZEAL, which was nearly complete at the time of David's death.
David was a loving and giving man. In 2006, as a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd (Acton, MA), David traveled to El Salvador and met with the people of El Ocotillo. The following summer, David returned to El Salvador, alone, as a missionary of the Church of the Good Shepherd, working with the organization Agua Viva El Salvador, installing wells and providing mountain villages with safe, clean water. David perfected his Spanish and loved sharing tales of his time connecting with the community, surfing, and drumming with the local kids.
David was betrothed to his long-time love Crystal Kazik (Green Bay, Wisconsin). They had plans to marry on October 4th, 2022. David and Crystal spent many years adventuring and truly having fun together, taking in all life had to offer. They shared a passion for music, nature, dancing, and their cats, Nox and Ned.
David was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Kenneth and Helen Pierce, his maternal grandmother Josephine A. Orlando, and cousins Joseph McCarthy Orlando and Katelyn Gecik.
David's surviving family members include Douglas and Susan Pierce, his sister Emma (Pierce) and her husband Scott Newton, his Godparents Robert and Nancy Orlando, his paternal grandfather Peter Orlando and beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
David will be sorely missed but his zeal will forever endure.
David's Memorial Service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 164 Newtown Rd., Acton, MA on Saturday, September 17th at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
