David M. Herlihy, 43, of Acton died unexpectedly on Sunday October 26, 2014 at the age of 43. He was the beloved husband of 22 years of Carrie (Dearden) Herlihy and devoted father of Cody, Camden and Cade Herlihy, all of Acton. Son of Paul and Judith (Dee) Herlihy of Acton. Brother of Paul Jr. and his wife Julie of Dunstable, Sean and his wife Jodie of Chelmsford and the late Brian Herlihy. Son-in-law of Joan Dearden of Bedford and Joseph Dearden Jr. and his wife Angela of Fitzwilliams, NH. Brother-in-law of Joseph Dearden III of Hudson, MA. David is also survived by many many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends . David was born in Concord on October 1, 1971. He attended the Acton schools graduating from Acton Boxborough Regional High School in 1989. He and Carrie were married in 1992 and lived for a short time in Concord before moving to their current residence in Acton. For the past 22 years, David has worked for the Maynard Public schools beginning as a custodian and working his way up to the position of Head Custodian. David loved hockey and volunteered as a coach in the Acton Youth Hockey league. He also loved music, horseshoes and the Boston Bruins. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday November 2nd from 4 to 8 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Services and interment on Monday November 3rd will be private.
