Daniel John Giurleo

October 9, 1937 — April 7, 2026

Daniel John Giurleo, 88, of Concord, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, after a long battle with dementia.

Born in Medford, Massachusetts, and raised in Arlington and Lincoln, he was the beloved son of Mary and James Giurleo. Dan carried with him a strong sense of family, work ethic, and community throughout his life.

He was the devoted husband of Rosemary (Fabbri) Giurleo, who predeceased him in 2025. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage, and built a life grounded in love, family, and a shared commitment to one another.

After high school, Dan briefly served in the Army National Guard until a training injury left him with partial, permanent hearing loss. He later earned an associate’s degree in business from Simmons College and followed in his father’s footsteps in the commercial flower industry as co-owner of Colonial Gardens in Concord, Massachusetts, a family business that continues to serve the community for 61 years. In time, he and Rosemary expanded into retail, building a full-service florist and garden center that reflected their hard work and pride.

Dan remained involved in both his community and his profession. He belonged to several social and industry organizations, including the Elks and Kiwanis, he served as a past President of the Massachusetts Flower Growers Association, and was a member of the Concord Agriculture Committee.

In his free time, Dan loved to golf and treasured trips to the Maine coast, where he could truly unwind.

He is survived with love by his children, Daniel James Giurleo, Linda Giurleo, David Giurleo, and Gina LaCorcia; daughter-in-law Laura Giurleo and son-in-law Michael LaCorcia; six grandchildren—Mark Snay (and his wife Alexa), Christopher Snay (and his wife Megan), Jared Giurleo, Nicholas Giurleo, Samantha LaCorcia, and Timothy LaCorcia—and two treasured great-grandchildren, Natalie and Mason Snay. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Mary DeNapoli, and his brother, Jim Giurleo.

He will be remembered for his good humor, deep love of family, strong work ethic, and the steady way he stayed true to himself.

A celebration of life event is planned for June, with details to be announced.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Dementia Society of America.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
