Connor Campbell Brandon, 19, of Acton, died by accident Friday July 27, 2012 in Boston. He was the beloved son of William and Lisa Brandon of Acton and was born in Cambridge on June 12, 1993. A great friend to many in the Acton and Boxborough communities, he attended Acton schools and was a 2011 graduate of Acton-Boxborough High School where he lettered in Varsity Lacrosse. He was an active participant in many sports including soccer, lacrosse, basketball, football wrestling and skiing. Connor received Presidential Awards for community service from both Presidents Bush and Obama and growing up was a member of youth groups at Acton Congregational Church. He more recently was an attendee of University of California at San Diego. In addition to his parents, survivors include his brothers, Ryan and Devon Brandon, both of Acton, his grandparents, Ann Brandon Lichtenfels and her husband Ted of North Kingstown, RI, Catherine Sementini and her husband Ray of Ridgefield, CT, and James and Elizabeth O'Neill of Lebanon, NJ. He was the godson of Brian and Christine O'Neill of Hudson and is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Connor was also the grandson of the late William T. Brandon. Visiting hours in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center will be on Monday July 30th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday July 31st from 9:30 to 11:30 am. A memorial service will be held Tuesday July 31st at 1 pm in the Acton Congregational Church, 12 Concord Rd., Acton Center, with a reception to follow in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Connor C. Brandon Memorial Fund, 12 Hemlock Lane, Acton, MA 01720, established in Connor's name for substance abuse prevention and education. Counseling services will be available at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School tomorrow (Monday) and Tuesday for anyone who might need them in the wake of Connor Brandon's tragic death.
