Claire J. Sheldon, 90, of Concord, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, August 4, 2011, surrounded by her family. Born in Newton, Massachusetts, she was the devoted wife of the late Harry B. Sheldon, Jr., who passed away in April. After 61 years of marriage, with little more than a day spent apart, they rest together. Claire graduated from Mount Alvernia High School in Newton and then completed secretarial school. She met Harry at her first job at Studley Schubert, where she was his secretary. Claire was a loving mother to Linda S. Morrissey and her husband Thomas J. Morrissey of Concord, MA; Paul B. Sheldon and his wife Patrice Sheldon of Oyster Bay, NY; Nancy E. Sheldon and her husband Martin Domb of New York, NY; and Ellen M. Sheldon of San Carlos, CA. She is survived by 9 grandchildren: Patrick, Katherine, Lauren, Meghan, Paul Jr., Eric, Juliet, Peter and Hadley; and 2 great-grandchildren: Owen and Claire.
