IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charlotte H.
Timlege
July 30, 1939 – August 8, 2024
Charlotte (Hildreth) Timlege, 85, of Acton, passed away comfortably at Emerson Hospital in Concord on August 8, 2024 in the presence of her children and grandchildren, following a brief and graceful fight with cancer.
Her family takes immense comfort in knowing she has been reunited in heaven with her cherished husband, Edward C. Timlege, her adored granddaughter, Jennifer C. DeAngelis, and beloved stepson, Brian T. Timlege.
Charlotte was born in Keene, New Hampshire on July 30, 1939, as the daughter of the late Lewis and Alice (Rowe) Hildreth. While growing up in Marlborough, NH, she was valedictorian of her class in high school and served as captain of the basketball team. She earned her bachelor's degree and master's in education from Keene State College. In her younger years, she enjoyed running and skiing.
Charlotte was as an educator for many years, teaching math and science for the Littleton and Acton public school systems. Later, she was a technical writer for several area companies, prior to retirement.
In 1988, she married her soulmate and the love of her life, Ed. Their incredible bond strengthened with each passing day during the 31 years of their devoted marriage.
She was a member of Nashoba Valley Neighbors Club. In her spare time, she was an avid reader and Red Sox fan. Charlotte also took great pride in her knitting, quilting and sewing projects, many of which are treasured by family and friends.
Charlotte remains a bright light in the lives she touched. Her generosity of spirit was profound. She had such great energy, striving to remain as active as possible through dance, Tai Chi, and exercise until her recent cancer diagnosis. She was a remarkably strong person who valued her independence. Her unlimited kindness, love and support will be forever missed.
She leaves behind four daughters, Patty Sutherland and her husband Kevin Connolly, Kim DuBois-McCarthy and her husband Brian, Jennifer Tyrrell and her husband Mike and Stephanie Sutherland, and their father Donald Sutherland; three step-daughters, Kathleen Arena, Beth Timlege and Kim Timlege; eleven grandchildren, Shannon, John, Jessica, Greg, Cameron, Emily, Megan, Lauren, Erin, Connor and Caitlyn; one great granddaughter, Reagan; three brothers, William Hildreth and his wife Mary, Steven Hildreth and his wife Joan and Charles Hildreth and his wife Kathleen; two sisters, Barbara Brown and Susan Silver, along with several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for visiting hours on Wednesday, August 14 from 4 to 7 pm at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Charlotte's graveside service will be held on Friday, August 16 at 11 am in Woodlawn Cemetery, 104 Concord Road, Acton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Emerson Health Foundation , Concussion Legacy Foundation or ALS Association .
Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
