Charlotte E. (Forsyth) Riley, 83, of Concord, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late William A. Riley who died in 1999. Born in Waltham on August 26, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Ralph A. Forsyth and Ruby D. (VanDemark) Forsyth. She attended Waltham public schools and graduated from Waltham High School in 1947. Beginning in 1967, for twenty years, Mrs. Riley was employed as a noon-aide for the Concord public schools and retired in 1987 as a cook. Previously, she worked as a telephone operator for the Bell Telephone Company. A longtime Concord resident, she enjoyed camping and traveling, especially to Maine and Prince Edward Island, Canada, cooking, canning vegetables and fruits and embroidering. Survivors include three daughters, Linda D. Thomas and her husband Larry D. of Ayer, Carol J. Riley of Concord, Laurel E. Landry and her husband Robert P. of Maynard, one son, William A. Riley II and his wife Linda Jo of Raymond, Maine, two grandchildren, Larry D. Thomas II of Ayer and Lowell D. Thomas and his wife Jessica of Fitchburg and two great grandsons, Collin and Timothy. She was also the sister of the late David V. Forsyth and Ralph Stanley Forsyth. Service: A Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 28th at 10 AM in the South Acton Congregational Church, 35 School Street, Acton.
