The Mascott family is saddened to announce the death of Charles Gould Mascott on June 22, 2025, in Stow, Massachusetts.
Chuck was born in Manhattan, New York, on October 30, 1941. He died after a long period of declining health.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edith Anderson Mascott and George T. Mascott. Chuck graduated from the Landon School, Bethesda, MD, and from Colgate University. In his last year there, he managed his fraternity house, DKE. He served in the Vermont Air National Guard.
Before graduation, Chuck started his career with the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company. He became their youngest General Agent when he was promoted to Syracuse, NY. He later founded the Commonwealth Financial Systems. During these years, he received many awards for his business accomplishments. When Connecticut Mutual Life merged with Massachusetts Mutual Life, Chuck played a prominent role in facilitating the integration of their nationwide system of general agents.
Following retirement, he was active in real estate, home building, and renovations in the greater Concord, MA area.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly Zieselman, of Manchester Center, VT, and Tara Johnson of Boxborough, MA, and his first wife, their mother, Rebecca Williams Mascott. Chuck is also survived by his four grandchildren, Alexandra and Charlotte Zieselman of Manchester Center, VT, and Hayden and Will Johnson of Boxborough, MA. He is also survived by his second wife, Claire Denatale, and his stepchildren Bennett Smith, Lyon, France; Katharyn Fiske, Cohasset, MA; and Allison Smith, Saco, ME. Chuck is also survived by his brother, G. Theodore Mascott, Jacksonville, FL. Donations in Chuck's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
