Charles F. Ferranti, 80, of Concord, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Heritage Manor Healthcare in Lowell, MA. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy A. (Wallenius) Ferranti. Born in Cambridge, MA, he grew up in Belmont, MA, attended Belmont public schools and graduated from Belmont High School in 1948. He received a bachelor degree in Business Administration from Boston University in 1954 where he was a ROTC member. He was commissioned into the U. S. Air Force in 1954 and was stationed at Greenham Common, England from 1955 to 1957, where he served as a Lieutenant. After returning to the U.S., Mr. Ferranti was the co-owner of Ferranti-Dege Camera Stores, and The Harvard Barber Shop, both located in Cambridge, MA. Charlie and his wife Dorothy moved to Concord in 1959 and also enjoyed spending time with friends and family at Stone Pond in Marlborough, NH. In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by one daughter, Linda J. Ferranti-Nesbeda and her husband Peter J. Nesbeda of Marlborough, NH, two sons, Stephen G. Ferranti and his wife Donna J. Ferranti of Bedford, NH, and David C. Ferranti and his wife Joyce Chutchian-Ferranti of Concord; five grandchildren, Charles, Samuel, Marcus, Sara and Anthony; two step-grandchildren, Hannah and Robin; one sister, Virginia McRae of Florida, one brother, Anthony C. Ferranti of Arizona and was a friend and mentor to many. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 21st from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, CONCORD, MA. A private memorial service will be at St. Francis Chapel at Stone Pond, Marlborough, NH at a later date.
