Obituary

Charles Lorentz Baker, of Maynard, died at Emerson Hospital on July 2nd of cancer. He was born on March 24, 1955 in Seattle, Washington. He was the son of Gerald L. Baker and the late Kathryn (Hultgren) Baker.

He grew up in Harwinton Connecticut and attended Phillips Exeter academy and Yale University. Following that he spent several years in the Navy. After being honorably discharged, he finished his education at the University of Virginia and the UVA law school.

Charlie loved to read and absorb knowledge. He had an excellent mind and remembered everything. As a result, he could tell you interesting facts about all sorts of things. Charlie liked taking care of his plants and loved nature in general. He enjoyed his cats, a good joke and watching funny movies. He took great pride in selecting special, fun gifts for his family and often left cartoons in places for them to find.

He is survived by his father, Gerald Baker, his sister Anne Keesler and her husband Dee and his nieces Virginia Keesler and Charlotte Keesler Skrzynski.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 27th at 2:00pm at Trinitarian Congregational Church, 54 Walden St., Concord, MA.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Maynard Food Pantry, P.O. Box 55, Maynard, MA 01754 where he was very proud to be a volunteer.
