Carole Kidhardt
Hoch
May 15, 1936 – December 7, 2022
Carole Kidhardt Hoch, 86, of Charlestown, MA passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2022.
She was born on May 15, 1936, in Claremont, NH as the eldest of three children, to Ernest and Elma Kidhardt. She attended her beloved Stevens High School and graduated in 1954. Carole went on to study nursing and then went on to secretarial school in Boston.
She was known for her zest for fun, her infectious laugh, and for her love and devotion to her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader, an expert in grammar, and a champion scrabble player. She walked miles a day at the former Charlestown Navy Yard. She had many lifelong friends and was admired for her intelligence, strength, and humor. She devoted herself to raising her children and worked for years as an administrative assistant and then as a bankruptcy paralegal.
During her early years in Boston, she met and married the late Alfred D. Hoch, and soon after had four children: Alan Hoch of Groton, the late David Hoch of Belmont, Jonathan Hoch of Lincoln, and Carole Lee (Hoch) de Jong of Newton.
Carole leaves behind her three surviving children, son-in-law John, and her eight grandchildren: Nicholas Hoch of Groton, Lily Mills Butler of New York, Emily Hoch of New York, Jack and Sam de Jong of Newton, and Daniel, Matthew, and Thomas Hoch of Lincoln. She was the sister of Ernest Kidhardt, Jr., of Atlanta, GA and Paul Kidhardt of Brownfield, ME.
Relatives and friends will gather for her funeral service at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord, MA, on Monday, December 19th at 10 am, followed by burial at Lincoln Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001 ( www.alzfdn.org ).
