Carol Goodspeed Smith, a recent resident of Springhouse Senior Living in Boston, formerly of Brookline and Concord, died at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston on September 8, 2022, following a period of declining health. She passed away one day prior to what would have been her 84th birthday.

She was born in Cambridge on September 9, 1938, as the beloved daughter of the late George and Ivis (Jenney) Goodspeed.

Carol earned her bachelor's degree from Radcliffe College and her master's degree in social work from Simons College. She went on to care for patients as a dedicated social worker at Tufts Medical Center and Brigham & Women's Hospital.

She will be remembered and missed by Zachary Larrabee, Emma Larrabee, Susan Larrabee and Whit Larrabee, with whom she lived on Searle Avenue in Brookline, as well as by her cousin Peter Sequera of California, and by her dear friends and neighbors in Brookline, Concord and beyond.

Carol will be interred alongside her parents during a private service at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. There will be a memorial service at First Parish in Brookline in December on a date to be determined.
