Carmine M. Lionetta, age 89, of Concord, formerly of Arlington, died on February 1, 2025 after a period of declining health.
Carmine was the beloved husband of Rosemary (Fitzpatrick) Lionetta for 67 years; devoted father of Mark and his wife, Celia, Diane Lionetta, and Dan and his wife, Irene. He was the loving "Papa" to Kara and her husband, Chris LeGrow and Jaclyn and her husband, Andrew Cardone and special "Great Papa" to Charlotte, Colin, Harrison and Camryn. He was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Zarella) and the brother of the late William.
Carmine and Rosemary raised their family in Arlington and later moved to Concord, spending his retirement at the golf course, fishing as well as being active in local clubs and charities. Carmine had a career in the in the electronics/defense industry which began while in the US Army and retired as an Engineering Manager for Raytheon.
Family and friends will gather for Carmine's Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 15 at 11 am in St. Bernard's Church at Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square, Concord Center. Interment will be private.
Concord's Town Flag will fly at half-staff on Saturday, February 15, 2025 in honor of Carmine's faithful military service to our country.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Carmine Lionetta may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital to support its Yawkey Center Infusion Unit fund, or its Colorectal Cancer Research fund. Gifts can be made online or mailed to the MGH Development Office, attention: Meagan Coons, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114. (Checks should be payable to Mass General Hospital but please reference Tribute/Carmine Lionetta).
