Carmel (Healy) McCaffrey, 94, of Superior, Colorado, formerly of Concord, MA died after a period of failing health on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at her home. Born in Westford, MA on August 7,1917 she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Gower) Healy. She attended Concord schools and was a 1935 graduate of Chamberlain Junior College. In 1939, she married her late husband Edward McCaffrey and they raised two daughters in Concord. In 1961, they joined Nashawtuc Country Club and she became an avid golfer, giving up the game at age 88. They owned the Johnny Tremaine Gift and Antique Shop in the 1970's and early 1980's. A truly remarkable woman who will be greatly missed, she was predeceased by her husband and daughter Ellen Lambert. She is survived by daughter Beth McCaffrey of Superior, CO, grandsons Tom McBride of Superior, CO, Matt Lambert of Jupiter, FL, and Whitney Lambert of Harrisburg, PA, and their spouses, and eight great-grandchildren, and by her sister Mary Boland of Concord. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 10am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord, MA. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.
