Carl D. Gainer, Sr., 78, of Lincoln, passed away on November 14, 2024 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.  He was the husband of the late Janet F. (Whalen) Gainer, who died in 2022.

Born in Akron, Ohio on September 7, 1946, he was the son of the late Carl Gainer and Lillian (Manning) Legere.  After graduating from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 1964, he went on to receive a degree in Business Management from Bryant & Stratton College.  During his professional career, Carl worked as a Distribution Coordinator for National Medical Care, which later became Fresenius Medical Care.  He also enjoyed his job delivering boats around the United States as a cross country Trucker.

Carl had a tremendous passion for Harley-Davidson's and Mustangs.  In his younger years, he was an amateur race car driver.  He took pride in growing his sports memorabilia collection, and could often be found playing chess or fly fishing.

He was a loving father to Carl Gainer, Jr, and is also survived by his sister, Linda Gillig, along with several nieces and nephews.  Carl was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Gainer.

Family and friends are invited to gather for Carl's graveside service on Monday, November 25th at 11 am in Lincoln Cemetery, 44 Lexington Road, Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association .
