Carl J. Burns, 70, of Littleton, formerly of Acton, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at his Littleton home. He was the beloved husband of Sharon (Edmunds) Burns.
Born in Winthrop on October 18, 1940 he was the son of the late Carl Gerard Burns and Mary Agnes (Londergan) Burns. He attended Revere public schools and graduated from Revere High School in 1959. During the 1960's he served in the Massachusetts National Guard.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Burns had a long career in the Semi-Conductor Industry.
He was a resident of Acton prior to moving to Littleton thirteen years ago. He was an avid golfer, a New England Sports fan, and enjoyed traveling. He was a longtime member and manager for ten years of the Concord Lodge of Elks.
In addition to his wife, Sharon, he is survived by 2 daughters, Susan A. Cunnington and her husband Robert of Merrimack, NH and Julie B. Brennan and her husband Michael J. of Walpole, 2 step-daughters, Dawna M. Spain and her husband Michael of Manchester, NH and Debra L. Marcewicz of Oxford, 1 sister, Eleanor Pumphret of Winthrop, 8 grandchildren, 1 niece and 2 nephews. He was also the brother of the late Virginia Kirk of Swampscott.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 13th from 2 to 5 PM in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
Service:
Funeral will be held on Monday, March 14th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 10 AM followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center at 11 AM.
