Bryan E. Carroll, 55, of Newport, RI, formerly of Winchester and Concord, MA, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
He was born in Somerville on September 17, 1963. He was raised in Concord, and graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1981 where he was a member of the National Honor Society, played football, and was Captain of the baseball team. Bryan went on to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he played baseball, graduating in 1985 as a Second Lieutenant.
A proud Army veteran, he served his country honorably as a Captain, leading a field artillery unit during the first Gulf War. He received numerous decorations including the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
He was employed for the last several years as the Manager of Employee and Labor Relationships at Cardinal Health. Bryan will be lovingly remembered as a die-hard Boston sports fan and an avid golfer. He cherished his life in Newport, where he would often enjoy fishing, boating, and spending time by the water.
He is survived by his beloved parents, Robert and Annette (Boudrot) Carroll of Winchester, two loving sons, Timothy Carroll of Long Beach, CA and Stephen Carroll of Newport, RI, his devoted siblings, Kevin Carroll and his wife Louise of Natick, Bethanne Saef and her husband Jeff of Bedford, and Patrice Carroll of Worcester, as well as four nieces and one nephew.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours on Sunday, January 27th from 12 to 2 pm, followed by a funeral service with U.S. Army military honors at 2 pm in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.
Concord's Town Flag will fly at half-staff on Sunday, January 27th in honor of Bryan's faithful military service to his country.
