Obituary

Betty Ann Shepler passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Concord, Massachusetts on June 21, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard E. Shepler, beloved mother of Edmund F. Olive, Jr. and his wife Christina of Sanford, ME, Robert D. Olive and his wife Grace of Ormond-by-the-Sea, FL and Debra Olive Walsh and her husband Francis of Concord, MA. Beloved grandmother of Kenneth and Aislinn. Doting grandmother to grand-pups Elvis and Lucy. Betty was born and raised in Boston, the daughter of John and Anna May Costello, the granddaughter of Abner Sparrow and Anna Hutchins. Betty was predeceased by her sister Jean Bulber of Sacramento California. Betty was a warm, loving and caring mother and friend. She was never too busy to stop and listen. She kept her sense of humor during tough times and never stopped trying to learn and grow. Betty was a wise woman to whom many turned for advice and support. Throughout her life, Betty was an active and spirited member of the Congregational Church, beginning with Phillips Congregational Church in South Boston, where she was baptized, to the First Congregational Church in Randolph where she raised her young family and ran the Sunday School, to the Main Street Congregational Church in Amesbury, where she was one of the founders of the Steppe Up In Shop. She was a tireless volunteer in many endeavors and spent her whole life giving back. Just last year Betty was recognized with a Friends Champion Award from Amesbury Public Library for her many years of service. Burial will be private at Union Cemetery Amesbury. Service: A funeral service to celebrate and give thanks for Betty's life will be held at Main Street Congregational Church, Amesbury on Friday, July 6th at 11:00am.
