Obituary

Betty F. Dion, age 89, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her Concord home while surrounded by family on October 3, 2025. She was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Andre R. Dion.

Betty was born in Québec City to Florence and Paul Adams. She met and married Andre in Québec City. They relocated to Massachusetts in 1960 where they started their family and Andre began his career at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. After settling in Concord in 1970, Betty earned her nursing degree in 1977 and started her nursing career at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. She retired from nursing practice, in 1998, after 17 years with the Starmet Corporation.

Betty loved to travel, which included Japan, Mexico, France, Italy, Switzerland, Greece and many trips to California to visit and vacation with family. She was an avid skier and tennis player. Winter was highlighted with family ski vacations throughout Quebec. Betty played tennis throughout the year for most of her life. For many years Betty participated in a weekly prayer group of Concord women hosted by her good friend and neighbor June Grace. She was warm, generous and outgoing with close ties to her siblings and held long-lasting friendships. Her greatest joy came from her love of family and the time spent with them.

Betty is survived by three children: Sandra Dion, Louise Dion (Gary Barnett), Eric Dion (Martina Lin); 3 grandchildren: Sadie, Nathalie and Isabelle; sister Lola Giguére (Adams) of St. Lambert, Quebec, brother Jerry Adams of Montreal, sisters-in-law, Murielle Croteau (Dion) and her husband André of Québec City; and Micheline Adams (Galibois) of Québec City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
