Obituary

Benjamin P. Owens, age 30, died suddenly and unexpectedly on May 31, 2021. He was the cherished son of Peter and Carolie Chapman Owens of Concord. Ben was employed at Tecta America New England as a Project Manager and Estimator. He graduated from Hollis-Brookline HS in Hollis, NH and received his undergraduate and master's degrees in Game Art and Design from Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. He was Salutatorian of his class. During his master's degree program, he led the Cap Stone program for Full Sail University. In high school Ben was on track, ski and lacrosse teams. As an adult, he acquired a taste for golf and was hooked. He was proud of his recent accomplishment of lowering his average golf scores substantially. His passion for skiing was developed over the years at Beaver Creek, CO where the family spent many years visiting with great friends. Ben loved spending summers in New Seabury on Cape Cod. From an early age he fell in love with the ocean. He loved to zip around in the Whaler and travel to the surrounding islands. The community of Spoondrift Cove became his family and he really cherished his childhood growing up with all the neighborhood kids. The Thanksgiving football game and July 4th celebrations were highlights of the year not to be missed. The lobster roll at Bobby's Raw Bar was Ben's favorite as well as our family backyard lobster bake each year. Ben's love for gaming was in the forefront of his life. It was a passion which started early on with the introduction of Nintendo. The love of gaming brought him to Full Sail University. Ben was a loving and beautiful soul. His friendships were the most important part of his life; wherever he was he always took the time to see them. Ben will be greatly missed for his kindness, his sense of humor, his dedication to his friends and his love for his family. In addition to his beloved parents, Ben will be forever missed by his brother, Dillon Owens, his grandfather, Donald Chapman, aunts and uncles, Susan and Brad Warren, Brett and Julie Chapman, Joan Owens, Susan and Andrew Jackson, Ethan and Stephanie Owens, and Emily and Allen Bachand, as well as his cousins, Melissa and fiancé Catalin, Mitch, Justin, Cameron, Lucy and husband Brian, Lily, Jesse, Nathan, Marley, Rhyse, Ryder, Rachel, Julien, Jack, Max, Nick, and the late Sam. He was the grandson of the late Letty Chapman, the late Jane Owens Wootton and Rev. Roger Wootton, and the late Martin Owens and his surviving wife Barbara Wolfenden.
