Audrey Joan Mold, of Concord, passed peacefully June 22, 2026 at the age of 95 after a life spanning several continents.
Born in Dehradun, India, her mother worked in Lord Mountbatten’s office, the last Viceroy of India. She and her mother left India for London at the Partition in 1947. While studying nursing at Charing Cross Hospital she met her husband James William Mold, a resident there. They were married in 1952 and had four children, Julia, Jeffrey, Michele and Jane.
In 1957 they moved to America and eventually settled in Concord where she resided for 52 years. She greatly missed England but made Concord her home. James sadly passed in 1997. In thanks for their help with James, she donated the ambulance to the Town of Concord in 2014.
Audrey was an avid gardener, loved classical music and opera. She always greeted her children’s visits with “would you like a piece of fruit?” She was also a great lover of animals, especially her three dogs Jenny, Jack and Bobby who she cherished.
Later in life she went back to nursing, getting her GED and retaking certificates in the USA, working in nursing and caretaking.
She leaves behind 4 children, 4 grandchildren and a great grand child.
Private services are planned on July 13, 2026 in the Dee Funeral Home. Please call the funeral home office at 978-369-2030 for more information.
