Arthur B. Stetson, 89, of Concord, Mass. died Sunday September 16, 2012 in Concord. Born February 15, 1923 in North Pomfret, Vermont, he was the son of Lloyd and Mary Stetson. He served in the Navy during World War II. He married Marjorie Worby in Montreal, Canada, a loving marriage of 63 years. Shortly after their marriage he and his wife came to Concord, fell in love with the Town and decided to stay. He worked as plant manager for Acorn Structures for a number of years and later as Plant Supervisor for Conant Machine & Equipment. He also worked as Sexton for Trinity Church in Concord and served on the Vestry at Trinity. He also served 23 years as an auxiliary police officer for the Concord Police Department. He retired from Digital Equipment as a security officer. Arthur also served as Scout Master for Troop 133 in West Concord. Some of his scouts still keep in touch with him. During that time he was selected to take charge of 60 Boy Scouts attending the 1969 Boy Scout Jamboree in Idaho. After his retirement as Scout Master he served on the Minuteman Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He also managed a Little League Baseball team in West Concord. A great outdoors man, he loved hunting and fishing and was a life member of the Concord Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of the Concord Senior Citizens. Besides his wife, Arthur is survived by three sons, Brian of Las Vegas, Nevada, Bruce and his wife Donna of Methuen, MA and Bradley and his wife Cheryl of Concord, five grandchildren, Mark, Shaun, Patrick, Mary Elizabeth and Christina, two great grandchildren, Kiana and Jaden, both of North Andover, one brother Leon and his wife Betty of North Pomfret, Vermont and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday September 21st at 1 pm in Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm Street, Concord, MA followed by interment with military honors in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord, MA will be held on Thursday September 20th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Concord's town flag will fly at half-staff on Friday Sept. 21st in recognition of Mr. Stetson's service to his country during World War II.
