Obituary

Antonino Tony Scimone, 79, of Concord, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Concord Healthcare Center in Concord. He was the husband for 43 years of Angelina (Scimone) Scimone. Born in Messina, Faro Superiore, Sicily, Italy on May 14, 1931 he was the son of the late Joseph and Rosaria (Donato) Scimone. He attended schools in Italy and came to the United States in 1966. From 1979, until his retirement in 2005, Mr. Scimone worked in the Maintenance Department at Willard School in Concord. Previously, he worked as a bricklayer at E. A. Comeau Contracting Company in Concord and as a gardener and farmer at Frank Scimone Family Farm on Bedford Street in Concord. A Concord resident since 1966, he was an avid woodworker. He especially enjoyed making birdhouses and drawing birds. In addition to his wife, Angelina, he is survived by two daughters, Roseann Scimone and Grace Scimone, both of Concord, 1 sister, Domenica Scimone and 1 brother, Paul Scimone, both of Sicily, Italy, 1 brother-in-law, Frank Scimone of Concord and several nieces and nephews in Italy. He was also the brother of the late Angela and brother-in-law of the late Domenica and Antonino Tony Scimone. Memorials: Contributions in his memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Cemetery: Burial will follow in St. Bernards Cemetery, Concord. Visitation: Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 11thfrom 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Service: Funeral will be held on Saturday, March 12that 10 AM from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord at 11 AM.
