Anne (Loewengart) Victor, 95, passed away peacefully at her Concord home on January 24, 2021.
She was born on June 19, 1925, in Germany, to Sol and Martha Loewengart. Anne was married to the late George E. Victor, until his death in 1968.
Graduating from Hunter College summa cum laude, Anne earned a bachelor's degree in Biology and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Embodying a lifelong passion for education, she worked as a counselor at Concord-Carlisle High School, and was a cofounder of Concord Assabet Adolescent Services. In 2000, the Windthrop Street School was renamed to The Victor School, in her honor, as she was instrumental in advocating for the mental health and special education needs of troubled adolescents in the Concord, MA area.
Anne enjoyed following politics, reading, cooking and could be seen on Friday mornings as she participated in many Concord Peace Vigils. She loved spending time with her family and will be remembered for her determination, her independence, her inquisitive nature and love of the New York Times crossword puzzle.
She will be forever missed by her three children, Eva Victor (Steven Lessin), of Burlington, Jon Victor (Suzanne) of Southampton, PA, and Tony Victor (Karin) of Acton, her grandchildren, Alex Marini Lessin (Sarah), Nick Lessin, Jake Victor, Emily Victor, and two great grandchildren, Ruth and Zoey Marini Lessin. Anne is also survived by her sister-in-law Irene Loewengart. She was predeceased by her brothers Richard and Marten Loewengart.
