Anne Marie (DeNunzio) Peterson, 88, of Concord, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at St Patricks Manor in Framingham. She was the beloved wife of the late George A. Peterson who died in 1995.
Born in Revere on June 27,1922, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Louise (Turco) De Nunzio. She attended Revere public schools and graduated from Revere High School in 1939. She was a registered nurse who graduated from Whidden Hospital School of Nursing in Everett. Mrs. Peterson was formerly employed as a nurse at Concord Academy and at Campion Center in Weston.
A Concord resident since 1956, she was a longtime member of St. Bernards Parish in Concord where she was an active member of the St. Bernards Choir. She was also a volunteer at Emerson Hospital and with the Concord Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Peterson of Columbus, Ohio; her three sons, James M. Peterson and his wife Jeanne ofS. Orleans; John D. Peterson and his wife MaryAnn of Stratford, NH; and Steven E. Peterson of Cambridge. Four grandchildren: Hugo and Gretchen Peterson of Cape Cod and Meghan and Holly Peterson of New Hampshire. She also leaves her brother Vincent De Nunzio and sister-law Jean of York, Maine and two sisters Rita Sweeney of Revere and Joan Patti and brother-in-law Joseph Patti of Orinda, California.
Funeral will be held Monday November 29th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 9 am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord at 10 AM.
Interment will follow in the family burial plot in St Bernards Cemetery, Concord.
Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Sunday November 28th from 4 to 8 pm
