IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anne Margaret
Miller
September 30, 1941 – December 31, 2025
Anne Margaret Miller — Middlesex Community College Leader and Award-Winning Educator
Anne Margaret Miller, a long-time resident of Concord, Massachusetts, and Brewster, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Wednesday afternoon, December 31st, 2025. Born September 30, 1941, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Miller, and her parents, Louise (Foley) Vogel and Dr. Ernest James Vogel, and sister, Jeanie Vogel, and survived by brother, James Vogel, Rochester, MA. Anne grew up in Arlington, MA, and lived in Texas, Maryland, Georgia, and Massachusetts.
Loving mother of Michael Miller and partner Gail Goldstein of Beverly, MA, Chris Miller and daughter-in-law Carolyn Miller of Newbury, MA, and Sean Miller and daughter-in-law Julie Miller of Concord, MA. Proud grandmother of six adoring grandchildren: Emily (Miller) Battista, Coleman, Jack, Julia, Holden, and Lula Miller, and great-grandmother to Luke Battista. Niece Gretchen (Vogel) Sullivan of Plymouth, MA, and Meaghan Vogel of FL.
A lifelong learner and educator, Anne attended Arlington High School, graduated from New Rochelle University, and completed a Master's degree at Boston College. Anne was an esteemed higher education leader and professor at Middlesex Community College where she serviced as Chair of the Science Department and was recognized nationally as "Teacher of the Year" for her excellence and impact on student learning and institutional advancement. Her career culminated at Middlesex in being granted emeritus status for recognition of distinguished service. Colleagues and students knew her for a student-first ethos, clear communication, and an infectious passion for teaching—qualities that helped shape programs and people, and that drew Anne recognition at the national level.
In retirement, Anne continued her passion for education as a Docent at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA. Her lifelong commitment to learning and community service extended to roles as President of the Concord Garden Club, Eucharistic Ministry, and volunteering at libraries and historical societies.
Through her leadership, nationally recognized contributions to education, and her post-retirement public engagements form a consistent narrative: a teacher, scholar, and administrator who believed knowledge should be shared widely—and who, through warmth and rigor, helped others find joy and confidence in learning.
