Anne M. Kleuber

It is with deep love and cherished memories that we celebrate the extraordinary life of a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Anne M. Kleuber, business owner of Regina Gifts of Melrose and Arlington, Massachusetts, and a true matriarch, a long-time Carlisle resident who passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.

Born and raised in the city of Boston, Massachusetts, on November 28, 1933, she grew up with a strong foundation of family, faith, and resilience. As a young woman, a simple trip out to the country in Concord, Massachusetts, with her grandmother to pick up poultry eggs would change the trajectory of her life forever. It was on that trip that she met the absolute love of her life, Henry.

Together, she and Henry built a beautiful life anchored in Concord. They welcomed two beloved daughters, and poured their hearts into working the land. Always entrepreneurial and forward-thinking, she and Henry eventually sold the farm to embark on a new adventure: opening their own retail religious store.

The store quickly became a cornerstone of the community, serving local families, churches, and faithful patrons for decades across its Norwood, Andover, Melrose and Arlington locations. Alongside Henry—and later with the invaluable partnership of their daughter Marlene and her husband Duncan—Anne grew the business into a thriving, cherished family enterprise.

Her dedication and work ethic were legendary. A fixture at the shop, she proudly continued to run the Melrose store until the incredible age of 92, greeting customers with wisdom, familiarity, and her trademark humor.

Beyond her sharp business sense, she was a famously witty woman who loved staying sharp. She had a passion for keeping up with current events, eagerly watching the news and immersing herself in intellectual programs that fueled her quick mind and sharp conversations.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry C. Kleuber. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love, hard work, and family devotion, including her two loving daughters, Marlene Gormley, and son-in-law, Duncan Gormley, Margaret Passafiume, granddaughter, Jennifer Passafiume, grandson, Matthew Passafiume, brother-in-law Frank Romano, nephew, Philip Romano, alongside loyal friends, and the many lives she touched over nearly a century.
