Anna Mary "Nancy" Phalon, age 87, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born on March 19, 1930 in Boston, MA to William D. and Mary Sullivan Moran. Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Philip A. Phalon (d. 2014) and is survived by her loving children, Maureen Ferris and her husband Bruce of Allentown, PA, Karen Lucey and her partner John Drehobl of Salem, NH, Janice Watt and her husband Bob of Brookline, NH, Philip Phalon, Jr. and his wife Jeannine of Mason, NH, Linda Hawkes and her partner Marv Ferguson of Mendon, MA, Susan Makuch and her husband Ken of Westford, MA, Paul Phalon of Bath, PA, Laura El-Azem and her husband Patrick of Londonderry, NH, and Patricia Tangney and her husband Eugene of Parkland, FL. Nancy was also survived by 22 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and her 2 sisters Phyllis Burke of Providence, RI and Dorothea Reid of Mayfield Heights, Ohio as well as a large and loving extended family.
Nancy grew up in Quincy and Newton, MA. Her earliest years near Wollaston Beach fostered in her a love for the seashore that she shared with her children during countless summer vacations on Cape Cod. She graduated from Regis College in 1951 and taught in Boston for a time before starting her family. She married her high school love, Phil, and fondly remembered their courting days at the Totem Pole Ballroom. Many of the lovely dresses she wore throughout the years were sewn by her own hand, a skill she learned at the knee of her mother and passed along to many of her children.
She loved the town of Concord and was enthusiastic about its history, including placing one of Concord's oldest houses on the National Register of Historic Places. Nothing made Nancy happier than having her home full of children, grandchildren, friends and extended family. She touched countless lives with her tireless devotion to her family, her community, and – especially – her Catholic faith.
