Anna Balles, 87, of Carlisle, MA and formerly of Midfield Road, Feasterville, PA, died peacefully on October 19, 2015 at her Carlisle home. She was the beloved wife of the late Norbert A. Balles who died in August of 2014. Survivors include her son, Eric Balles married to Kathy (Geary) Balles of Carlisle, her daughter Edie (Balles) Neidhardt married to Peter Neidhardt of Boxford, MA, her grandchildren, Daniel Balles of Malden, MA, Emily Neidhardt of Orlando, Fl, Josef Balles of West Hartford, CT, Matt Neidhardt of Boxford, MA, and Suzy Balles and Maria Balles, both of Carlisle, MA. Born in Ruma, in the former Yugoslavia (now Serbia) on November 28, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Matthias and Anna (Linzner) Moser. She fled Yugoslavia during WWII and immigrated to the US. She was eventually reunited with her family in Philadelphia PA. She became a US citizen in 1957, the same year she married Norbert, whom she met in night school while learning English. She was an avid gardener, skilled seamstress and loved the company of her grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Irene's Catholic Church, 181 East Street, Carlisle, MA on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Green Cemetery, Carlisle. Memorial Remembrances can be made in Anna's memory to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care of the Dee Funeral Home of Concord.
