Ann R. Clune, 75, of Concord, formerly of Waltham, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Emerson Hospital in Concord.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 3, 1941, she was the loving daughter of the late Thomas W. and Ann Rita (Dunleavey) Clune. She attended the Elmhurst Academy of the Sacred Heart in Providence, Rhode Island, and later graduated from Manhattanville College in New York and earned a Masters degree from Boston University School of Social Work.
Ann was devoted to her lifelong career as a Social Worker. She was formerly employed by Worcester Family Service, New England Medical Center, and the Town of Woburn school department. She was also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and served on the board of directors for the Massachusetts Association of School Adjustment Counsellors.
For the past two years, she has happily resided at the Concord Park community among wonderful friends. Ann cherished the time she spent traveling to Europe, Florida, Bermuda, Cape Cod, and especially Newport. Her sense of humor, ready smile and friendship will be sincerely missed.
Survivors include a brother, Anthony Clune of NM, two nieces, Susanne Warburton and her husband Raymond of East Greenwich, RI, Lori Viner and her husband James of Saunderstown, RI, one nephew, Thomas Clune and his wife Heather of Wakefield, RI, a grand niece, Melynda, three grand nephews, Derick, Thomas and Zachary, her cousin, Lois Dunleavey of Long Island, NY, and many dear friends in the Greater Boston area. She was also the sister of the late Thomas W. Clune and sister-in-law of the late Lois Clune.
A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated on Ann's birthday, Friday, March 3rd at 11 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center.
