Angela Evelyn (Mayo) Finneran, age 90, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas A. Finneran.
Evelyn grew up in Winthrop Massachusetts, attended Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Brighton and when on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree from Simmons College, embarking on a career in Nutrition as a Registered Dietician. She worked at The VA Hospital and General Foods in New York City, Boston area Skilled Nursing facilities, and The Infant Toddler Center of Acton.
In 1957, Evelyn married Thomas "Tom" Finneran and the two lived in Santa Monica, California before returning to the east coast and settling in Concord, Massachusetts to raise their young family.
Known by many as "Evie", she led a full and busy life, and was an active member of both her church and community. She volunteered for Concord Public schools, town events including Patriots Day festivities and Election Day polls, Council on Aging, and at Holy Family Parish (formerly St. Bernard's Church), where she was a faithful parishioner.
She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and treasured circle of friends. Evelyn will also be remembered for her love of traveling across the country and to Europe, as well as spending summers at her family cottage in Falmouth.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Pamela McManus and husband John of Killingworth, CT and Lisa Finneran of Newton, MA; her son Mark Finneran and partner Mari Fetzer of Falmouth, MA; five grandchildren: Caroline and Elizabeth McManus; Emma Niden; Phoebe and Jack Finneran; as well as extended family and close friends.
Due to COVID restrictions, Evelyn's Funeral Mass will be celebrated privately on Saturday, January 23rd in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center.
