Andrew Miller Simmons, 51, of Ayer, formerly of Concord, passed unexpectedly on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer after suffering from Cardiac Arrest. He was the beloved son of Beverly Miller Simmons of Acton and the late Warren Arthur Simmons who died in 2010.
Andrew was born in Newton on June 10, 1965. During his youth, he grew up in Concord where he attended the town's public school system and graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School.
He attended Maine Central Institute and was a member of the graduating class of 1985. He also studied at New England College in Henniker, NH.
For over twenty-eight years, Andrew assisted in the family operation at Specialized Plastics, Inc. in Hudson where he was the Warehouse Manager.
An incredible and natural athlete, he was infamous for excelling at any sport he tried, including hockey, baseball, swimming, and golf. He was a sports fanatic, and faithfully supported Boston teams. A friend to many, he will be deeply missed for his heart of gold and good-natured personality.
He was deeply loved by his family and will remain in our hearts forever.
In addition to his mother, Beverly, survivors include his daughters, Jacquelyn and Meghan Simmons, both of Ayer, his brothers, Jeffrey A. Simmons and his wife Andrea of Littleton and Glenn R. Simmons of Maynard, and his nieces and nephews: Nicholas, Christopher, and Taylor Simmons, all of Littleton, and Haley Jean and Benjamin Simmons, both of Maynard.
Private funeral services were held on Thursday, July 7, 2016. Burial followed beside his father at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
