Alfred E. Spurr, 82, was called by our lord and God, from this earth on August 26, 2016 in Vernon, Vt. He was formerly of Norway ME and Acton, MA.
Born November 26, 1933 in Lynn, Massachusetts he was the husband of the late Muriel Monsen Spurr and brother of the late Philip Spurr. He is pre-deceased by his mother Doris Allard Spurr and father Allan L. Spurr. He is survived by his daughter, Jennie Mills and son in-law, Paul Mills of Vernon, Vermont, Neal Spurr of Cherry Valley, MA, and Daniel Spurr and daughter in-law Rose Spurr of Plainville, MA. He had five grandchildren, Mathew, Cameron and Jessica Spurr of Gardner, MA and Kyle and Katelyn Spurr of Cherry Valley, MA. He is survived by his brother in-law, William N. Monsen of Acton and sister-in law, Barbara Spurr of North Conway, NH, as well as nieces and nephews, Linda J. Monsen, William S. Monsen, Robert Spurr and Pamela Scarlett.
Alfred was a graduate of Concord High School, Bentley and Suffolk University, a member of the Shriners, and an employee of Millipore Corporation in Bedford, MA.
Alfred will be remembered for his love of family and friends. He enjoyed the birds in his backyard, reading mystery novels, and spending time with family and friends. His most recent venture to the Bahamas to stand as Best Man in Daniel and Rose's wedding was the highlight of his year.
A Boston sports fan and hockey Dad, he enjoyed cheering for the home team and watching his grandson Kyle play hockey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2nd from 10-12 Noon followed by a funeral service at 12 Noon in Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford St., CONCORD, Mass.
Interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
